The Woes Of A High School Student

It's amazing how much we think we know,

But knowledge seems to come and go.

And sometimes it feels like there's so much

That nobody's guesses could ever touch

The truth of what we're dealing in,

While we feel like we'll never win.

The problems of everyone seem to crush,

But your cries for help keep being hushed.

They tell you, "You're as good as can be!"

But perfection's all they want to see.

You work and study and never sleep,

But through it all, on you keep.

You just want time to be a teen,

But having fun, you're never seen.

"There's a party!" your friends say,

But you've got to study- not today.

The pressure's on, butu you can't quit,

Even while you crumble bit by bit.

"Take this class, take that," but you don't hvae the time,

And to your family, freedom's a crime.

They want you to walk in Ivy League halls;

Well, I hope they'll tutor from within padded walls.
