As the most powerful nation in the world, the United States of America have a unique mission in the world, to present a standard in uniting instead of dividing all the nations. To survive we have to become one world, we already have achieved it in the world of finances and world economics. Our collective survival we have created on an economic scale will force us to negotiate our differences on other levels as well, surprisingly so.

As history has proven, the need will provide the means and so it will be again. Every country in the world will need to face the reality of a global economy for its own survival. Will it destroy us all or will it allow us to realize finally that we are one world indeed!

The utopia of humans of all countries, continents and ethnic groups and beliefs uniting for the only reason to create a better world, was indeed a far fetched dream. That our basic needs of food and saving our financial system might bring us all closer and allow us to realize that we have indeed become one world is such an irony. Any country trying to survive through protectionism will become the next third world countries, independently of their powerful, financial status today.

The United States of America, with Barack Hussein Obama, as president, has given the world a different message, it has not only resurrected the American spirit it has also given the rest of the world a strong message of change and hope.

The american people in their majority and the rest of the world are ready to embrace the reality of a dream that started the riots in Alabama, the flower people in California, the powerful words of Dr. Martin Luther King, the student revolution in France in 1968 I was part off, the days when all was possible.

I am a Baby boomer they tell me, but I was rioting in the streets, I believed in a better tomorrow, I never thought I will ever feel young again, which means feeling that hope is in the air, that change is possible, but this time we are a global economy, also we are Baby Boomers, we have $$$$$ to spend, we did not have then. So let our old dreams come through, let us spend less on medications and instead feel the hopeful pulse through our blood stream again, we are the lucky generation to be able to have this opportunity again, so let us take it and fly with it as we were young again and give our children a new respect for our old bones.

There is no need to reflect on the damage done in the last 8 years of our political nightmare, we need to go forward and we do not have any time to waste. Just one short observation, 8 years of the despotism of W Bush allowed us to elect our new President. This election is as historical as any Revolution in any country in the western world in the last 200 years we still read in our history books in our schools.

Much more can be thought and written of the legacy of the last decade, which many books will cover over the next decade. In the meantime, we need to embrace the choice America has made, the hope floating in the air, the respect we ordinary citizens are regaining, but most of all we cannot underestimate the message that was sent to the rest of the world, the one that delivers hope and the reassurance that the USA is a democratic country, a country for the people and by the people.
