When I see Obama it is because of the legacy Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. left behind
I am a novice/amateur/underdog who was born on April 3, 1965. And I was three years old when Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. gave his last speech; "I've Been to the Mountaintop", on April 3, 1968, the day before his assassination. Dr. King's speeches have given me the inspiration to write about the change what he saw on the mountain top in bringing oneness to the nation. Dr. King's death on April 4, 1968 at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, TN was not in vain because President Barack Obama represents "I Have A Dream" for all Americans. I will continue to write and do my part to help accomplish what the Lord sent Dr. King and President Obama to do. "I Have A Dream" is a lot of Americans dream which came true. On the day of the Inauguration I felt the oneness Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. wrote about in his speech "I've been to the Mountaintop". And when I see President Barack Obama it is because of the legacy Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. left behind. I find it so incredible Obama and King have accomplished what the Lord sent them to do. They are my inspirations to help me accomplish what the Lord sent me to do. All Americans will need to pull themselves up by their coat tails and put on their boots and tie their shoe laces tight, if we want to stay in unity and accomplish what the Lord sent us to do. So, I pray all Americans continue to stay on one accord to help make our new President Barack Obama transition a smooth one. However, change can only come in America if we change our ways of thinking. And stay on one accord because for where there is unity, there is strength. If we will stay in unity, we will become strong in numbers, and our voices will be heard throughout the United States of America and around the world. Once again, I am a novice/amateur/ underdog, but I can do all things in Christ who strengthens me. All it takes is you and the Lord to believe in you and one other, too because when there are two or three gathered in his name God is in the midst.
I would like to leave you with the..............
Excerpts from Mary McLeod Bethune's Last Will and Testament
...I Leave You love.
...I Leave You hope.
...I Leave You the challenge of
developing confidence in one another.
...I Leave You the thirst for education.
...I Leave You a respect for the use
of power.
...I Leave You faith.
...I Leave You racial dignity.
...I Leave You a desire to live
harmoniously with our fellow men.
...I Leave You finally a responsibility to
our young people.
Words from one of Mr. Martin Lawrence Movies:
Sometimes when you are watching something, you have to slow down and be patient and let it come to you. If you want something bad enough, you got to be patient and it might come to you. If it's someone important, you got to put yourself into it, you have to go get it.
One of Harvey Fierstein Quotes:
Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one's definition of your life; define yourself.
I am inclined to believe the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. represented and lived by the Excerpts of the late Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune's Last Will and Testament. Dr. King's speeches "I've Been To The Mountaintop and I Have A Dream" bridged the gaps for President Barack Obama, and Mr. Martin Lawrence Movies and others to come to past and accomplish what the Lord sent them to do. It is a proven fact Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. never allowed anyone to bully him into silence. And never allowed himself to be made into a victim. Undoubtedly he accepted no one's definition of his life because he defined himself.
