David Beckham will be staying in Milan. True he is getting older, but his ability to play the game is still apparent. His performance so far for Milan has been very good. Plus add to the fact that Milan has numerous injuries at midfield, it seems most likely that Beckham will stay. Yes his celebrity status is very appealing to Milan, already they have seen an increase in merchandise sales since Beckham has arrived. Plus look at the line up regardless of age or ability to still play the game, Beckham, Ronaldhinio, Kaka and Pato. That is enough to intimidate any team in Europe. He also has had 2 goals in 5 outings up to this point, so he can obviously still contribute. It is also in David Beckham's own interest to stay. He has always said his main goal is to get on the 2010 England squad for the World Cup. The only way this is going to be done is to play against higher caliber players than there are in the MLS. On a side note, why stay when one of the strongest players besides himself might leave for Germany(Landon Donovan). The Italian game is more of a thinking game than the English Premiere League, so I think Beckham will do just fine. AC Milan simply seems to be the best fit for David Beckham, especially with the World Cup on the horizon. The main obstacle facing Beckham is his wife. Victoria seems to have gotten use to the wonderful LA life and it will be hard for her to up-root and move to Italy. However with what is at stake I think she will do this for her husband. David Beckham will waste away in the United States. LA will never win the MLS, or at least during Beckhams' tenure they will not. If he does not get out now he might just be stuck in LA and retire there with nothing to show for it. Does anyone really think that he could change soccer in the US all by himself? Soccer fans were a little to quick to jump on this band wagon and it must have put tremendous pressure on Beckham. Another reason to stay in Milan, No Pressure! He is simply expected to contribute not win the Serie A all by himself. His supporting cast is tremendous and as long as he keeps himself in shape and from getting hurt he could be in Milan for awhile. If Beckham does not stay in Milan Capella skipper for England has all but said that he would not put Beckham on the squad, and since England is his real priority David Beckham should do everything in his power to stay with AC Milan.
