Betrayal
I had a friend not long ago
Who felt lost, alone and scared
So I opened up my heart and home
So her burden could be shared
I encouraged her to find self-worth
And to follow all her dreams
I held out a helping hand
But nothing was what it seemed
I offered words of wisdom
And advice gained from my years
Then she stabbed me in the back
And didn't even shed a tear
The betrayal of a friend
Is not easily overcome
But then she said I'm sorry
And I began to ponder some
And while I was pondering
She grabbed another knife
But this time I saw it coming
And took back my own life
I no longer have a friend
But then I doubt I ever did
For she only cared about herself
Like a spoiled rotten kid

Would you breathe for me,
Or would that be too complicated?
