The city of Stamford, a beautiful coastal community, is located in the southwest corner of state of Connecticut. When you visit this tranquil city with quiet neighborhoods and beautiful beaches you will never believe that New York the biggest, busiest city of USA is just 25 miles from here. With lowest crime rate in decades, best city services and great schools this is a great city to raise a family or take your kids to.

Stamford has a lot to offer for children of all ages, including the beaches, parks, recreation centers and much more. Even on the rainy days, which are the hardest, to find activities that will keep those kids busy, the city of Stamford gives you many options. Here are few of them for your consideration.

1. STAMFORD TOWN CENTER

I know the kids don't like to visit the mall that much, but this one is an exception. With newly opened loony tunes play center on the 7th level it proves to be a big hit with kids from toddlers to elementary school ages. For your older ones though the center runs many contests through out the year on various subjects, which are sure to keep them motivated and encourage their educational and overall development. Your kids can join the club for free anytime. All the events organized by the center are centered towards a progressive and naturally healthy development of the kids and their families. At these events many cartoon characters such as Dora, Spiderman, Star wars characters and many others also make appearances to entertain children. This is one place that the kids can have fun while the parents enjoy some shopping.

2. STAMFORD TWIN RINKS ICE SKATING

This is place you can take your kids any day. Rent skates and go skating on one of their NHL regulation sized rinks. You will also find 2 restaurants to grab a bite after the skating. There are 2 party rooms available for birthday parties or graduation parties or any social event for that matter with special package pricing. If you would like to learn figure skating or ice hockey, this center also offers lessons for all ages in both. You can find lots to do with the kids here if you don't mind a little cold.

3. STAMFORD ART CENTER

Take your kids to this state of the art theater for some really unique shows and performances from well known artists from around the world. Although children under 4 are discouraged to attend, all kids above that are admitted at discount price. Best of all there is Free Summer Children's theater in July, where all admissions are free, but you need
