BEYOND THE DOOR
The love that I ponder for,
Is beyond this locked door.
If I shall honor the family pride,
Behind this door I must hide.
The world outside is a wonder to me,
And until the time when into it I descend,
Seems to me like and endless eternity.
Which I would like to enjoy before my end.
I wish that time I could quicken,
For I dream of that time when I can begin.
To see the sights and sounds,
Of the world that now surrounds.
Protectiveness has hasten me,
To go out into the world and be,
What I want to be.
To love whom I choose to,
To share life with those who are like me.
To love the special person in you.
Until that time these thoughts must be declined,
And remain only thoughts of my mind.
