Relationship varies from couples to couples, so is the degree of depth in the relationships. Some are in Love, or just liking, or infatuation or sexual desires and many more. 75% of the partners would certainly invade the independence of the other, it's just a human nature that we expect maximum from our partner. One tends to devote time, inner energy and emotions with his/her partner.

Expectations are high and so is the risk of getting hurt in case of breakups. It seems very simple but in reality it's not the case. It's explainable that one can be in a relationship and so that person gives up certain routine activities and compromises on several issues. However, to respect oneself and the other you should always maintain a fair level of independence of your own.

The problems in relationships arise when partners compromise on certain activities, after few weeks or months when the relationship tends to get stereotype, the differences will start to erupt. Just because you were not involved in activities or things which you were doing before the relationship. One can't be just acting all the time that he/she is happy and settled with how things are going on in a relationship. You will only increase the complexities and disturb one other because you were possibly getting too bored in the relationship. It's not possible that you stop growing, learning about yourself and respecting your partner in the relationship, this all a part of the whole package. Saying no also is very important in decisions or discussions with each other. The yes factor can lead you in greater troubles when the volcano of emotions will erupt one fine day and things might not get pretty between both. In an effort to please the other one can or should only go as far as the wallet permits.

Relationship is a mutual two way understanding and not dictated by just one partner. Manipulation should always be avoided and to be forthright and straight-forward is the essence of maintaining a relationship. I will elaborate on Manipulation, that it will occur consciously or unconsciously but only with clear open mind, you would be able to perceive the right judgement without resentment. Another factor in a relationship is maintaining your momentum that has to keep you going. Don't make fun and entertainment everyday part, as this is bound to crumble your affair someday. Let it come once a week, I bet that will keep your partner looking forward to what you are up to and the time with each other will not get boring. A variation in your weekend activities should not be neglected. If you want to invite other couples even that can be good but at far regular intervals.

Make time for some of your independent activities, this could be with your friends or some social service or community service, spiritual meetings or spending time with your work colleagues. This will only make your bond with the partner more stronger as in the process you are keeping yourself fresh with ideas, thoughts and what's happening around in the world. This will also determine the level of trust between each other and forecast the future of this relationship.
