Do we still need ability grouping in our schools

" Power in number's " First of all, I would like to give a big salute to all the hard working teachers, who give their time and compassion to our future leader's. With no experience as a teacher, I am not gonna emphasize too much. But as a father of two children in school, I do feel like grouping is a very swell idea. Not only does it make it easier on the teachers, but for the student's as well. Each student relates differently with different teacher's. For example, one teacher might have a concept of teaching math that student's might better understand.

" Homework arrangement " Me and my wife have a concept worked out, that I feel has been a great impact on our children's grades. We do our best to work as a team. I will help with English and spelling, while she helps with math. When one of them gets frustrated or discouraged, she is their to give them the best encouragement a child could use. On the other, when they become chaotic, I am there to handle the situation. Our son goes to afternoon classes after school that has been very helpful as well. Grouping in school and home I feel would be very rewarding.

" When grades drop " We started this method at the beginning of this school year. Our Son's report card was not very impressive. The teacher was very encouraging to say the least. She thought it was best that we put him in a after school program. Which was a superb idea, but more work still needed to be done. He is a very hyper child, my wife needed some help in dividing the homework up and to help keep them focused on their school work. It was a bit challenging to begin with, but we stuck to our gun's with the idea. Needless to say, they have did really well with it.

" The reward " In between the after school program, very supportive teacher's, and us as parent's for believing in ourselves, both are doing really well. Our son made the honor roll, placed second in both a science and a book fair, our daughter made all A's on her report card. Grouping is more than just school's. It is the parent's and school's working together in promoting education. It would simply make it easier on child and teacher. The less stress we all have, the more it encourages student's to do the very best they can. It is an idea that our government should really invest in. Because after all, they are our future. As provider's, we need to give them all the knowledge that we possibly can.
