Wounded
My God, my God,
Why have you abandoned me?
The cold hands of loss grip my soul,
and I cry out to you
But there is no relief for my sufferings,
no hope in my grief
I need to feel you near me, your love unending
I scream for you to save me
I beg for your help
And my prayers are heard, not answered.
But I will continue in this world of sorrow,
Knowing it is your will
For my enemies will be punished tenfold,
The thief will reap what he has sown
And one day my pain will end,
My rewards are held in heaven
For you are just
But until then, my heart aches for you
And my tortured existence continues
