Witchcraft practices in Tanzania

For the past decade witchcraft practices in Tanzania has raised many eybrows within the international community. Like many African countries with this deep rooted cultural practices, the Tanzanian witchdoctors have become the doctors of every kind of disease and their practice are totally accepted and embraced by some of its citizens. Their practices as stupid has it may seem continued to shut down the brain of some of its citizens who belief their fake magical powers.The witchcraft itself which ranges from herbs to human body parts are common practices which continues despite the public outcry over the practice. Witchdoctors across the country,many of whom are herbalist claimed to have powerful magical nemesis from leaves and roots. According to some of the witchdocters in question here, they even have magical power to make you rich. Some fortunate individuals who just happend to be lucky after taking bath with the herbs mixed with albino body parts given to them by these witchdoctors with the combination of their own hard work are able to strike it rich. So if these witchdoctors ask any Tanzanian who belief in these taboos to do anything including human sacrifice they will do it without fear.

Since 2007, nearly 40 Albinos have been killed for their body parts. The killers of these albinos sell the body parts which include their limbs, skin and genitals to witchdoctors. The witchdoctors in some other African countries are mainly found in the rural areas but the Tanzanian witchdoctors are open to the general public who rely mainly on them. Being an albino in Tanzania is very scaring. When nightfalls you have to stay indoors otherwise they will hunt you down for your body parts. According to the official tally from the Tanzanian government there are over 200,000 albinos in country which has a population of 4 million inhabitants. In the most recent case from reliable sources,one albino man was killed in his village while he was having his dinner. The incident happened, when some people called to him for help. When he got out of his house to help them,they strangled him and chopped off his leg and made away with the limb. Similar cases have a common occurance in Tanzania.

Following the saga of the Tanzanian albions,law enforcement authorities have arrested nearly 90 people in recent months.Some of those arrested include police officer on suspicion of killing albinos or trading their body parts. Witchcraft is a common practice in many African countries and each of
