Give me my milk jugs back.
I love you more than the day is long
I'll comfort you and cradle you in my arms
But I refuse to nurse you
I simply cannot continue
You can have anything else
But mama's milk is off the menu
No more cracked nipples,
Engorged breasts and backaches
13 months long is all this mommy can take
The moment you learned how to chew
Was when I decided I could no longer breastfeed you
Mommy loves you just the same
But not to end this would be a sin and a shame
(That's my right and left breasts' new names)
When you tug at me
I'm going to give your little hand a tap
When you see the ninnies
Don't swoop in for the attack
Eat your big boy food
Savor your bite-sized snacks
Slurp juice from your Sippy cup
And give me my milk jugs back.
