Finding the difference between happiness and pleasure

Happiness and pleasure are two distinctly different things. I will explain why:

Happiness is a state of being, as well as an emotion. As a state of being, I believe true happiness can only come from within ourselves. If we are unhappy, it is our own responsibility to find a solution to what is taxing us. As an emotion, several ways exist to feel happiness. The emotional happiness is often experienced from the outside-in: Specific events or people make us feel happy.

Pleasure is an experience. Whether it be food, sex, money, or whatever we may find pleasure in; it only stays with us while we are experiencing it. After that, it becomes a memory. Having pleasurable experiences may play a part in us finding our happiness and these experiences certainly may help us to feel happy while we are experiencing them, however pleasure is not synonymous with happiness.
