An open letter to humanity on global warming
I have noticed that we are obsessed with our own demise, a trend that movie & documentary makers have not missed either. You can see first hand on the big screen the million and one ways our planet, our society, or mankind will come to an end. PBS went as far as showing us how fast our planet would recover from mankind's' scars.
I don't understand this romantic attitude humanity has over our fate; it goes against our innate nature to survive. We all came together during the cold war to save our children from nuclear war. We all came together after Chernobyl and Three Mile Island again to save future generations. We balanced the national budget in the 80's so our children wouldn't have to pay our debts. We spend billions every year so children wont go hungry. We fight wars, losing many young lives for human rights. We even imprison people for the mistreatment of animals. Why no passion for our own survival?
What has happened to humanity? Our planet is dying as humanity scurries around trying to amass wealth and material objects for their futurewhat future? Haven't we learned from our past what happens when we blunder on with no regard to impact? Why do we have to wait until we're on the brink to do anything about it? It's not a movie people; no one is going to come in at the last moment to save usgenocide of the last kind.
We can't wait for the governments of the world to come up with a way to make money fixing our mistakes, besides the wealthy believe that we will find another planet to destroy before ours dies with the rest of us still here. GREED ~ that's what it's all about isn't it? Haven't we learned in the last few months what greed can do to us all? Maybe we'll all get lucky and the modern world will collapse and the industrial age will end whether we like it or not. It wouldn't hurt humanity to learn to scratch the dirt to eat.at least we'd still be here.
There are so many simple solutions that could make a big differenceIf you had to stop doing something to save your own life wouldn't you stop? Wouldn't you put your life on the line if you knew it would save your children? The dent gas prices put in your wallets a few months ago made you rethink your driving habits didn't it? Have you gone back to your old ways now that prices are back down? Is money your only incentive? ~ If I insulted you, so be itI want my grandchildren to live!
So let's talk money Buy in bulk, save moneyless packaging ~ don't need that
