Can You Find Lasting Love As A Teen?

I hate having to admit this but I was wrong all those years ago. I never thought twenty five years ago that you could find lasting love as a teenager. Looking back now I realize that yes in fact you can find lasting love as a teenager because I know now that I did.

I was 15 years old when I met a beautiful blue eyed boy named Howie. I was invited by his best friend to meet Howie at school one day after football practice. His friend assured me that Howie really liked me so after some persuading I eventually gave in and agreed to go. I was really nervous this was the first boy that ever liked me and I did not know what to expect when I met him. The last thing that I ever expected was that it would be the start of a beautiful and lasting love story.

There is no doubt that this love was first love at its best, but it did not take long before it became so much more. In the beginning this love was filled with all the characteristics of first love, it was a combination of innocence, hormones and fireworks but unlike other first loves that start out burning bright and end up fizzling out before they really start, this love grew to be so much more.

There are certain couples where first love does become so much more, we were one of the lucky ones we were one of those couples. Our love seemed to grow and change into something that was stronger, deeper and longer lasting than first love. The love that we shared became so intense, it was oh so beautiful, but it was also oh so overwhelming. This love evolved into a true love and by the time I was 16 years old I knew that I had the kind of love that soul mates shared and that would result in a life long deep emotional connection.

I also hate to admit that at 17 I knew that I had met the person that I was meant to be with forever. I knew in my heart that I was with my true love, but in my head I never thought that it could be possible that our love was truly meant to last forever. I was so overwhelmed by how much I loved him, but one question kept popping up in my mind though "Can first love like this really grow into a true and lasting love?".

There are so many signs that our love was growing into a lasting love. Everyone around us saw the signs and it seemed obvious to them that we were meant to be together. We were amazing together two halves that acted as one, we were capable of over coming many obstacles in our quest to be together including religious differences. With every obstacle we
