The issue of same sex partner marriages and relationships have been a rising problem in our society today. We as citizens of the US can not control other peoples feelings and thoughts. Regardless of the restrictions that the government makes to prevent same sex marriages, people are going to do what they want to do.
Of coarse employers should provide employee benefits for their partners, as long as they are in a marriage accepted by the state. They provide benefits for their employees partners who are of the opposite sex correct? It is not the employers buisness what their employees do in their spare time. It is ridiculous for any one to think that or believe it. The employees do not think its their buisness what their employers do while not on the job so why should anyone care what they do?
If the marriage is accepted by the law and is a legal marriage the employers do not have an option!
Employees are protected under the Bill of Rights. You can not discriminate between one employee and the next. If you give one employee something you must give the rest of your employees the same thing. Discrimination is a disgusting disease that has taken over America. We not only discriminate against gays, but we discriminate against other races as well.
Why do we as Americans feel that it is our duty to impose our thoughts, morals, and beliefs unto other people. We should for one let other people think what they want to think., do what they morally want to do, and not make it our sole duty in life to change everyone else.
I do not agree with same sex marriages and am not homosexual. However, that does not mean that I can not respect those who are and those who make different choices than me.
Recently, I joined a new youth group. There is a teen there named John. He is a homosexual that has just recently came up with enough courage to tell a few trusted friends. Luckily for me, I was one of them. Obviously, morally I do not believe that same sex marriages are right. But, it would break my heart for John to not be able to find someone who he is both physically, and mentally attracted to. If that someone must be male, then so be it. Who are we to tell anyone what is right and wrong when we have all made mistakes?
While you may believe one thing, you must keep in mind that there are 6 billion other people on this planet who you must co-exist with. All of these 6 billion people have different thoughts, and different beliefs. This is just something that every single person will have to accept.
