Traveling with kids in Oahu

When traveling with children destinations need to provide activities that keep their attention. These need to be exciting and if possible somewhat educational. Oahu has a lot to offer to make sure the trip is fun for everyone in the family. Oahu stands for "gathering place" which sounds cool. Here are some of the great places to visit during your stay in Oahu. The following shows many of the attractions.

Mission houses museum, 553 South King Street, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813, Ph (808) 447-3910, www.missionhouses.org. The mission houses give you a perspective of what it was like between 1820-1863 in Oahu. The museum has different events going on all the time. Check out the website before you decide.

Honolulu Academy of Arts, 900 South Beretania StreetHonolulu, HI 96814, Ph (808) 532-8700, http://www.honoluluacademy.org/cmshaa/academy/index. aspx. This art museum has over 50,000 pieces of artwork. There are many different kinds of art in this museum. Honolulu Academy has Asia, European and American painting, graphic anddecorative arts.

Hawaii Theatre Center, 1130 Bethel Street, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813, (808) 528-0506, http://www.hawaiitheatre.com/. This theatre has been around since 1922. This was named one of the top five historic theatres in the country.
The Hawaii theatre has won multiple awards.

Diamond Head Theatre, 520 Makapuu Ave. Honolulu, HI 96816, Ph (808) 733-0277, http://www.diamondheadtheatre.com/. The Diamond Head is one of the oldest theatres in the country opening in 1915. Dancing, singing and acting are all a part of the great entertainment at the Diamond Head.

Cedar Street Galleries, 817 Cedar StreetHonolulu, HI 96814, Ph (808) 589-1580, http://www.cedarstreetgalleries.com/. This gallery has themed works of art that take place though out the year. This usually have one artist as the headliner. The format of work is mixed mediums.

This gallery is owned by an artist and strives to promote only the finest artist nationally and internationally. This gallery is a great experience for all art lovers.




Honolulu Zoo, 151 Kapahulu Avenue, Honolulu, HI 96815, (808) 971-7171, http://www.honoluluzoo.org/. This zoo has many activities for children. This includes a children's petting zoo, where the kids get in interact with the animals. Has a picnic area, and the zoo hours are 9 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. everyday except Christmas.
