Do you think style stopped during the Great Depression? Parisian couture designers continued to turn out new collections each season even during those dark times. And guess what? Women continued to shop even if they were cheaper knockoffs.
Even in the harshest of economic times. you can remain stylish. The barometer of fashion tends to become conservative and traditional rather than a passing fad. Look into your closet and you may just need to fine tune what you have.

There are ways to be fashionable without paying over your allowed budge for 2009. The perfect way is to add a splash of color to give your existing wardrobe staples a whole new look. Regardless what spring fashion dictates, think spring, think bright. Do not dress how you feel; instead dress how you want to feel.
Adaptable and multi-functional pieces are the key element to develop your outfit and style and are the way to success. For both the upper and lover portions of the body, select monochromatic colors. This has an added benefit to slim the body line. Black, beige or white should be your foundation to begin with.
They do not need to be expensive but invest in quality clothing for your key pieces. It's amazing how much mileage you can get out of better quality items. The focal point is to enhance the ordinary with accessories and layering. Big, bright and bold prints can be played upon your base outfit to add that special look.

Change the look utilizing the same slacks and top by adding a sheer blouse or jacket to and a power house piece of jewelry around your neck. This can easily take you from day to night.

During the day, when you're wearing a jacket, particularly when you're going to keep it buttoned, can get away wearing a T-Shirt. The same step should be taken when you're layering a shirt under a sweater. There's no need to spend as much on the under-layer as you may have in the past.
