A home theater, a dream that is possible. Well the good thing is that you can have today home theaters running from very low budget to very sophisticated arrangements.

So let us start, it all depends what your budget is and even more important the space you have for such an installation. I am not speaking for the equipment as such but the size of the room.

Why the size is important, because the way you put out your loudspeakers is what will help getting the right sound into your ears, to enjoy the presentation. Most DVDs today are with surround sounds and ready for home theaters. The DVDs themselves are built also allowing the sound to be spread correctly.

So what you need at the beginning is one of those ready made boxes that have this extra equipment for home theaters which will have five loudspeakers and the most important part the AV receiver that will bring the sound to the right loudspeakers.

You can watch from your own television set, the bigger the size the more pleasure of course. It can go from a television set, through a large flat screen to a white screen like in the cinema for the most sophisticated home theaters.

Once you have your basic equipment, make sure that you place the television set in the center of the room and that you place the sitting area in front of the television set but at a distance. Then you have one central loudspeaker where your TV set is, two loudspeakers will be on the left and right hand side of the room at the level of your TV set in front of the room, while the two others should be on the two sides of the room behind you.

This is what will give you a basic home theater. From here the sky is the limit, the important parts for the sound are the loudspeakers, the better the loudspeakers the better the sound will come out and you will enjoy the film even more. For the bass sound there are special loudspeakers and you need one only that will give you this incredible sound for certain scenes .

For the pictures, the choices start with your normal television set, going to flat screens and projectors. When you speak of projectors, you have excellent ones and in different budget lines from one lens which are the lower range to the three color lenses that are the top of the line.

The top of the line would mean building a room for your home theater, which can give you a better experience than in the movie theaters. There you would need a long room and a dark room with a slightly higher ceiling. The back of the room you would build a small platform which will allow you at least two rows and one being higher than the other so that all see.

The screen, you would buy a special movie screen which will bring out the picture to a maximum quality. The projector you would use a three color lens which will give you the best quality picture. Remember when you build such a room to foresee the electrical cable that need to pass from one side to the other, you don't want to see them.

In one corner, you will build the cupboard that will have all the equipment, and now you will add one piece of equipment that will allow you by remote to control all the equipment from your seat. To top up everything you can have seats that can allow you to lounge with legs outstretched, a little popcorn machine and I can assure you that you and your family will enjoy the film even better and more that at the movie theater.
