Being a Chelsea fan is somewhat frustrating trying to assess the career of Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson. After all if it were not for Sir Alex in charge of Manchester United, then it is fair to say that Manchester United would not perhaps have enjoyed so much success as they have had in the past 15 or 20 years.
From the television interviews that Alex Ferguson is involved in, he seems always calm at times trying to hide his emotions, he chews often a piece of chewing gum. He never gives away too much information and if anything he gives away too little. He is always praise worthy of the good efforts of certain players and seems to be a hard person to please which can be said when the team do not get the results they would like.
In the transfer market Alex Ferguson has made a number of successful transfers including Carlos Tevez, Wayne Rooney. Other attributes about this success is that throughout his era at the club there have always been players that have given the football club everything. The club have also gone on to win trophies, league titles and champions league successes. The great part of this is that these signings have delivered at a seemingly lower cost than other teams including Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool. Therefore to say that the manager at Manchester United has got his sums and his team working as the club would like.
Also during Manchester United have also been successful in developing themselves into a global media brand whereby people in South Asia have become fans along with other worldwide markets. This type of success has been revolutionary and innovative where Manchester United have become leaders in soccer marketing and branding worldwide.
It is also apparent that Sir Alex gets the players wanting to win and obviously has developed a strategy throughout the team to ensure success at every level.
Sir Alex reputation with the referees and officials before and during matches is another area of interest in reviewing briefly as the boss of Old Trafford is known to interfere with referees minds before the game, which can lead to some fans around the country saying that perhaps certain fringe decisions made by referees tend to be given in the direction of Manchester United. Another area where Sir Alex has done so well for the club, is that he continuously had arguments and tussles in the media with the likes of Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho and Rafa Benitez that even when Manchester United were not involved in playing a match, that he got the team and the sport of soccer extra media exposure.
