Is Satanism the work of God?

by Jodie Scott

Created on: January 28, 2009

To a Christian this question smacks of blasphemy. But for others who are honestly seeking to find the truth, it is a legitimate question.

Lets turn this question around. "Is Christianity the work of Satan?" If the answer to the title question is yes, then the answer to this question must also be yes. Both answers are totally inane. The very thought of such a possibility is like spitting in God's eye.

Satanism is an action. It is the work of the one who does the work. This being is Satan. As the epitome of evil, his works must be evil. Satan means "the accuser". He goes by many names- Satan, the serpent, the devil, and Lucifer are a few of them. He is everything that is dark and his works are putrid- the works of death. Spiritual death will be the end result for Satan and his followers.

My opinion doesn't matter. Opinions can be wrong. But God's Word is Truth and we will use His Truth to examine this question.

What is the nature of God? What does God say about Himself? "This then is the message we have heard from Him, and declare unto you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all." (I John1:6) This was spoken by God about Himself.

He is love. He stepped into history in the person of Jesus Christ. In the book of Isaiah the angel said to call Him Immanuel. This name being translated means "God with us". He came so that "we might know the love of Christ, which passeth all knowledge." This is love unfathomable. As human beings we may "feel" love but it is just a vapor compared to the love of God.

Titus tells us He "gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from ALL iniquity(evil)". What a gift! A gift is something given freely and He gave us the gift of eternal life!

Our Father is never changing. He was the same yesterday as He is today and as He will be tomorrow. He is Absolute Truth. "It is impossible for God to lie." (Heb. 6:18) He couldn't lie even if He wanted to. He is absolutely fair and just. We are all treated equally. God has no favorites and He is "no respecter of persons". (I Peter 17)

He is Holy.(I Peter 1:15) " He can do no sin (evil) and no guile (lies) are in His mouth". (I Peter 2:22)

These are only a few of the infinite attributes of God. He is the only Being that had no beginning. Therefore everything that was created was created by Him. "Without Him nothing was made that was made." This includes Satan. Does this mean that God created him evil? Of course not. But God did give all the beings He created free will: the choice to love
