Poetry: Longing for your love

by Vea Terrie

Created on: January 28, 2009

I wait each day, looking and hoping
but you never come.
The days are long, the nights lonely,
yet you remain a phantom
alive only in my dreams.

I have seen you so many times my love
in our special place,
where time does not exist for us,
just the tender and passionate embraces
lighting our souls with stars and moonbeams.

Will I ever find you, or will you remain
a wishful thought, a foolish desire
unreal, but still so true
that I can feel the warmth of your lips on mine,
and with each kiss our love renewed.

I have searched many eyes for your soul.
So many have come and gone
yet none made my heart feel whole.
Is it that I am meant to be alone
pray God this is not so.

I will wait forever, if it must be,
while the ache in my heart grows each day
but I know that He answers all prayers
and hears now what I say.
Dear God, please send my love to me

that my heart will forget the pain
of waiting and longing and yearning for him,
that these years were not spent in vain.
I have faith you have answered and I wait patiently
for the time he arrives, the love of my dreams.
