If you're reading this article, you're having trouble finding time to exercise. Or, if you have the time, you don't have the motivation to do it. Every single one of us has the exact same excuses, so it's not hard to overcome. You already know someone who has.
There are five simple things you can do to ensure you never give up, and stick to a routine.
1. Remember you don't HAVE to go to the gym
You can exercise at home. This is often the biggest obstacle. Many are scared to get out to a gym and work out in front of people who already know what they're doing. You can have just as strong as an effect by going for a run, or even just doing a simple exercise routine at home. Don't use this excuse; we didn't always have gyms.
2. Ignore your body
This is very important. If you're like everybody else (and you probably are) you won't see the changes you want as fast as you want. For the early stages it's advisable to go as far as avoiding mirrors at all costs. You don't want to see yourself looking particularly out of shape (bad lighting?) and just decide it's not worth the trouble. You have to live in your own mind until the results start to show.
3. Eat right too
This one seems almost out of place, I know. But if you start exercising properly but you're eating garbage, you'll feel like garbage. Processed foods can only take you so far when you're actually expending energy. It can get you through sitting on the sofa, but a multi-mile run is a whole different story.
4. Think positively
The most important thing you can do when trying to accomplish anything. If you remember that what you're doing is a means to an end, and visualize that end constantly, you're more like to follow through. If you start thinking negatively, make an active effort to change it. Think back to when you made your decision in the first place.
5. Set a strict schedule
This is actually the most important rule of all. You don't want to simply just decide to exercise 2-3 times a week. You want to choose the exact times every single week that you will exercise no matter what. It doesn't matter if you break a leg, you exercise during that time. I advise early in the morning, because it'll be a wonderful energy boost for the day. If you follow this rule you will succeed. It really is that simple
You already have the motivation. Just drop the excuses. For every reason not to, you have a more important reason to just go ahead and do it.
You deserve better.
