Some women shy away from eye liners, due to the difficulty in application. Eye liner can enhance your eyecolor, even make your eyes look larger and more definted. Eye liner can be applied in different ways to totally change the look of your eyes. Here are a few hints for perfect eye liner every time you apply it.

Chose a liner that will not run or smudge easily after application. Gel eye liners are great, they give you a few minutes after application to touch up and wipe it off quickly without making a mess of the rest of your makeup. Buy an eye liner application brush, a small brush just for applying eye liners. This will help make application much easier than using a q tip or any other tool. Some eye liners come in the form of a pen or pencil. Those are easy to use also, but once again, make sure you get one that is smudge proof.

Start by holding down your eye just below the lids to apply bottom eye liner. Make sure there are no creases in the skin around your eye. Apply a little liner to your brush, or take your pencil and start at the inside corner of your eye. Drag the pen or brush across the bottom of your eye, keeping the product close to your eye lid. Keep a steady hand and create a straight line. Hold your eye lid down for a few seconds to ensure that the product dries. Do the exact same thing to your other eye. Now you have the bottom of your eyes lined.

Applying liner to the top of your eye is the tricky part. Hold your eye lid down and avoid flinching, which can be tricky for applying liner for the first time. Focus on keeping a steady hand. Start by applying liner from the inside corner of your eye outward. Try not to press too hard, that can make your eye water and ruin your bottom liner. Drag the pencil or brush outward and stop at the outer corner of your eye. Hold your eyelid down to make sure the liner does not run. Do the same thing to your other eye. Now you have perfectly lined eyes!

If you happen to smudge or want a thicker line, take your pencil or brush and apply a little more where needed. Also you can flare your top liner line out if you want an added sexy look. Take the line on the outer corner of your eye out just a little to create a larger more doe-eyed look. There are many tricks to the trade that you will discover on your own just by playing with your eye liner and developing new techniques. Eye liner is one of those products with endless oppertunities.
