Women just want to look good
It is true that we are faced daily with articles on How to Loose the Baby Weight, and see top celebrities bounce back to pre-pregnancy shape. However, women aren't overall super focused on being teenie tiny.
I think realistically speaking, women in general have learned to accept that pregnancies change our bodies and sometimes we can't just loose all the weight immediately. Now, for some, such as one of my friends, she was super model thin before she was pregnant. Not even 4 weeks later she was back to her pre- pregnant figure. Amazing! I cant lie, I was slightly envious. After I had my son and as soon as my body allowed, I started getting back into shape. More so because I wasn't happy laying around being sluggish and sloppy. It had nothing to do with outside pressure.
Most woman today are actually looking to find healthier ways to get back into shape after the birth of their child. It seems that they are more so interested in being healthy and feeling good about themselves than anything. I find it quite pathetic that as adults we would even consider allowing images of how magazines portray a woman to look even affect our mind set. We have have brains so why not use them ladies! I mean I can understand if we were young all young teenage girls who have poor body image and we're not grown up, but with only a few exceptions can I understand/justify that in adult womanhood. I see how a small portion of women are grouped into the exception of my opinion, such as those who are living in houses where their spouse may put them down based on their weight. Therefore, their spouse is considered to be pressuring them to loose excess weight. Celebs can be considered REQUIRED and pressured to lose the weight to maintain their previous image or maybe they have to go on tour. Which makes me ask, are you goin on tour anytime soon? Most likely, your not. Why? Because youre an AVERAGE woman! The thing is though, when I think about the average woman regardless of where she is from, I see a woman who weighs around 145-150 lbs. The average woman isn't even loosing weight! How could she be pressured to?
If anything I think women today just want to look great and feel happy in their body. I think women WANT to lose weight after giving birth. Its more natural now to get back in shape but hardly because one is pressured to or because there are such high expectations to look a certain way.
If women are being pressured to look a certain way or to loose a certain amount of weight after a baby, more than likely the pressure is coming from herself. And you know what? It might not be a bad thing. Sometimes we need a little motivation.
