leftovers because that was all there was
feeling bad but the pain lied
being tough because
I remember
that time you lost me
an accident straight down a ravine
happiness gone underground
I remember

out of this world
craving your call all night long
I remember
buildings, ugly battles, brittle days
of December keeping everyone indoors
coming for comfort, a sinking isolation
I remember
no one who I love like I do you
your voice, your smile, the truth
it calls me when nothing else can
I remember
that to forget is to
rearrange things
which teaches me nothing
