Look in the mirror. Do you hate who you see? Were you not made in the image of God? Who is righteous enough to look over the shoulder of a gay person in the mirror and say, "God hates you?" Can a gay person actually love another gay person like a man and woman do? Well, many gays want to be married. I have seen them kiss and hold hands. Perhaps the main question is," can love flourish in two hearts of the same sex?" God created the power of love and made love higher than all other powers. Yes, it even exceeds mankind's religions. I believe that love can flourish anywhere it is accepted.

What if your wife or husband miraculously and suddenly became the same sex as you? This is your soul mate and the love of your life. Would you hate them? The answer for myself would be; this is who I have loved for 20 years and this is who I will love until I die. How can a parent find out their child is gay and love them less? Are we not the family of God? Christian preachers stand beside the story of Sodom's destruction to self righteously condemn gay people. The people of Sodom were having sex with anyone or thing they could grab. They were raping women, men and children. This has absolutely nothing to do with the love between two gay people.

I don't pretend to understand what it is like to be gay. Is being gay an act of creation or simply choice? Love is an act of creation and is also a choice. Love is created when two people choose to love one another. Love is in their fate and therefore love chooses them. If God hates gay people, then God must hate their love. How can God hate love? Maybe a better question would be; does religion hate gays? Gay people have been persecuted by religions for thousands of years. Preached into hell from the pulpits, denied the grace of heaven in whispers. Dose this sound like Jesus of Nazareth?

Hate is a powerful word but the understanding of love can always conquer hatred. We need to understand that the love of a gay couple is no different than the love of a straight couple. Sex is totally beside the point, it is about love and only love. When a person masturbates, they are having sex with themselves which is the same sex, duh! This is how we experience our first sex, double duh! This means that we all start out GAY, triple Duh! That being said, it is time for religion to realize that being gay is a relationship of love and God dose not hate gay people. Look in the mirror and smile, God loves you.
