White male construction workers targeted for discrimination

Former Labor Secretary Robert B. Reich - speaking at a House Democrat Steering and Policy Committee meeting on January 7th- said, "I am concerned, as I'm sure many of you are, that these jobs not simply go to high-skill people who are already professionals or to white male construction workers." He also posted, on his blog, an article entitled "The Stimulus: How to Create Jobs Without Them All Going to Skilled Professionals and White Male Construction Workers".

He was speaking about how and where the proposed Economic Stimulus Package should be spent. He went on to say that Congress should set "criteria" to insure that such aid go to "others", not the high-skilled white male construction workers, and "mandate" that to the states. He and Rep. Rangel seemed concerned about State legislators, or Governors, having any say in where the money is spent in their states agreeing that congress should limit their voice.
This is the most inane domestic policy put forth by the Democrats in recent memory. They plan to spend billions of tax payer dollars on public works projects and they don't want to use any "high-skill people". They even want to hogtie state Legislators and Governors, lest they attempt to use skilled people for work in their states.
Of course the major media has said nothing about this. They are enraptured by the Democratic coop in Washington and willing to overlook any negatives. It is even more telling that the obvious racial comments, and tone, were completely overlooked. If anyone, other than a powerful Democratic wonk, had sat in congress and suggested that any new welfare money should not go to female blacks, there would have been a nationwide uproar.
The media simply looks the other way and the majority of skilled white male construction workers will never know such racist comments are allowed, and even welcomed, by national policy makers. These power brokers show an obvious prejudice against the working middle class they claim to represent, and white males specifically. Such racial prejudice, now turned toward white males, has no place in our nation.
It has been argued that previous economic policy was crafted to favor the rich, and that minorities were kept out of the nations prosperity. This new policy is just a reverse of prior racism and classism. Under these new "formulas and criteria", it seems, white males and the middle class will be discriminated against as a matter of public policy.
Dr. Reich's comments not only excludes "white male construction workers", though he specifically called them out, but all "high-skill people who are already professionals". Therefore those minorities who have been able to climb out of the welfare state under previous economic policies will now be discriminated against because of their economic status.
These policy makers seem bent on destroying the middle class and punishing white males in general. Their dream of building public works and infrastructure without the use of skilled workers shows they are blinded by their own prejudice. Any reasonable person would realize that skilled workers are the backbone of modern society, or any economic system, and that the majority of those workers are young white males. This is an obvious case of cutting off ones nose to spite ones face.
