Hair style and emotions go hand in hand for me. It's like a two-way street that works both ways for the person and the hairstyle s/he is sporting. Your hair is like a mirror image of yourself. The hair is also one of the first things that other people would notice on us. It cannot be simply overlooked. Your hair makes you and others aware of what is going on.
When one is feeling good, the individual spends more time in prepping one's self up for the day. Styling it, like whether putting on lovely hair accessories or gelling/mousing it up, braiding or tossing and flipping it out, just simply grooming up shows that the person is in a happy mood. It's reflecting that you are showing yourself off, like working it in the ramp, feeling ala-model. You're flaunting yourself with your very own crowning glory, the hair, by rocking it. People can tell by how you carry yourself with the style you've done. They compliment you and the more you feel better about yourself. It clearly shows. Your day starts off in an awesome way. How you carry yourself is how you're feeling inside.
The other instance of your hairstyle itself affecting your emotions is the results that you get from the hair salon. You go there, ready with a style in mind, either you're feeling having a new look, or getting over an emotional ride experience, just anything. How the stylist ends up in doing your hair would definitely have an effect on how you'd feel about it. It is like a cause-and-effect theme. When it is a beautiful cut, you'd feel very happy about it. When it is a thumbsdown style that ended up not what you were expecting it to be, you'd obviously feel glum about it. You wouldn't be content. This is where the hairstyle affecting your emotions kick in. It can either be a bummer or a glower of your feelings.
There is a saying that one's hair itself has emotions too, like having its own persona. What you do with your hair, the hair would respond to it. Like if you do a great cut on it, the hair would flow beautifully. But if you suddenly went on a rampage and had it curled up suddenly, your hair would rebel and give you those dreaded bad hair days. It's a cycle. It just won't cooperate with you no matter what you do in taming it down.
When it comes to hair and you, there is a formula working inside and out. When you're taking care of it and you're in a happy mood, it shows in your hair. And in return, your hair also reflects how you're feeling, the state that you are in. So, happy hair styling!
