Unless your significant other is on a diet or doesn't eat chocolate there is a very easy way on how to figure out what kind of chocolates to get for Valentine's Day. If you and your significant other have been together for a while you have seen them snack on a candy bar or something chocolate at least once. If you haven't seen them eat it then you have probably heard some sort of reference they make without thinking towards something that sounds good.
Watch the types of candies that they snack on the rest of the year, the type of chocolate that they prefer. Some people like Dark Chocolate, some Milk, some white and so on. There are people who prefer something inside their chocolate like peanut butter, nuts, fruit filling or more chocolate. I would think that someone who prefers a Dark Chocolate Snickers would be into dark chocolates with caramel and nuts. On the other hand someone who went for a Three Musketeer or a Butterfinger would probably be a milk chocolate candy bar kind of person or a box of mixed milk chocolate.
At the same time you have the ultimate romantics who just love getting that heart shaped box of mixed chocolates mainly for the sentiment and love of tradition. It isn't really what is inside the box it is the fact that you spent the time picking out the perfect one and had a special reason they chose it. Also a big classic that is loved by all are the chocolate covered cherries. Some people who like to mix it up might like a mixture of miniature chocolates. Pick out a cute box or bag and a couple different types of candy they would like and mix them up inside. This way you don't go wrong and showed you do pay attention.
Most women start to hint about things getting closer to Valentine's Day. I know that I do. It is a common thing. So pay attention to what she or even he might be saying or hinting at, it could help a lot. A couple of the very good but not extremely expensive chocolates that make mouths water are Lindt, Dove, Hershey & Russell Stover. Make sure that the other person likes chocolate first and that it is something that will be enjoyed and appreciated not just appreciated and thrown or given away.
If they like something better than chocolate who says you have to stay with tradition. Maybe your partner's favorite candy is something not even close to chocolate, find a way to make it fun. If it is suckers why not make a sucker tree with their favorite flavors on it. Or if they like Jolly Ranchers why not buy a few of the different Jolly Rancher candies instead. Follow the lead you are usually given and you can't go wrong. Good luck!
