Barack Obama has lost popularity around here. Many had high hopes that Change was coming. Many were under the impression that power was coming back to the people, when in fact, it's simply 'changed' hands. Barack's popularity will continue to fall when he begins negotiating with foreign enemies, AKA terrorists. But let's talk about what he's actually done, since 'negotiating' hasn't happened yet, to my knowledge.

Within his first week, Barack Obama has signed many executive orders, something that is typically a last resort. Maybe it feels like ultimate supremacy? That isn't how it is supposed to work and the people won't be fooled for long. They are already catching on.

No press were allowed into Obama's second swearing in ceremony. This is an obvious red flag to any First Amendment lover. Kudos to the Associated Press for refusing to print the un-professional looking photo that probably was "distributed" by the White House. They are standing up for themselves, and the people are beginning to, as well. Hence why I am here.

The press are likely to turn more and more on Obama if he keeps threatening to not speak to them, which he did already - in his first week. When asked about one of his appointments (which went against his campaign promises), Barack Obama said that he was just coming to introduce himself (also known as "schmoozing") and things like that. He also said that he wouldn't come speak to them if they were going to "grill" him. So, thereby, he's dodging accountability (much like the Bush administration were known for), which the people will see once the press keeps getting shut out like this.

That's two occasions since in office that he's "messed" with the press, and that doesn't count the snapping at them he did before the election. Usually, it is often up to the press how people feel about just about anyone. And though sometimes the press have their own interests at heart, many "unknowns" just want to get the truth. And when citizens demand answers, that is the kind of press that will seek them - and if press gets stonewalled, they will message back to the people, and the people will vote accordingly. Just as the people did when the press actually GOT answers from Bush and the people didn't like the answers - Bye Bye Republicans, at least they got answers. But it works both ways.

It is very early in Barack Obama's presidency, but the feeling is, that once the media doesn't get the truths they seek, they'll turn and Obama will lose popularity quickly. Once the hysteria is over, Obama is going to have to be more than just charming. With every snap of his tongue to the reporters, and silence on the issues, the American people will realize, as they are beginning to, that they've been bamboozled.

I think people are still feeling happy and glorified, and that can't be taken away just yet. Some will be his follower until the end of his term, or (if people don't clue in,) terms. But most will see, as some already are, that Barack Obama is just another politician, but a lot worse. Take that for what you will, but this writer still believes his popularity will be short lived, in the midst of all the hype. Just one thought on the subject... if I'm eating my foot a year from now, I'll do so proudly. But first, the man has to reverse the damage he's done (in my eyes) in his first week. Then he has to do more; he has to be the best - we can't settle for less at this point.
