Should the officials at Virginia tech have responded differently

by John Siwula

Created on: January 25, 2009

Horrible happenings are tough to rate

What happened at Virginia Tech was terrible. Some mad shooter went running around, being a bozo loser. The tragic events of that day is despicle on behalf of the shooter. He was the dumbo that did all that damgae to innocent people who wanted to do something positive with life. Life was needlessly cut short for far too many that fateful day.

From all accounts the police and security did the best they could considering the grizzly circumstances. The responders helped get people to safety, no doubt about it. Many more lives would have been lost to the bullets of the loser if it were not for the lightning fast reaction of those first responders. Fortunately that will never be known probably by many seeing that something as petrifying and awful as that which happened at Virginia Tech is a rare occurrence indeed.

Events such as these purported by "lone wolves" such as these are practically impossible to predict and difficult to ascertain at the onslaught. So there should be no doubt the first responders did all they could. This person or shall we say lunatic was literally all over the map and. What appeared to be a relatively random act of violence was soon transformed into something far more horrible and sinister. How can one truly prepare for that sort of swath of human rage and ignorance? Everyone did the best they could that cruel day they fell vitcims to the shooter's moronic ending of many lives, including his own.

Cable News Network (CNN) showed an I-Report of this monstrous conflagration of the events and how the authorities were handling the situation. Clearly everything appeared to be totally under control. The shooter was pinned down and must of known full well his final moments of his final day being a total loser were not like totally at hand. Even the reporter was sent off to a safe place after coming dangerously too close to the situation unfolding before his eyes. Police handled the situation perfectly and by doing so probably saved the life of the reporter as well. Yet through the Smokey lens of the reporter's camera this writer could clearly see that police and security had the as safe and secure as humanly possible.

Criminologists, sociologists and psychiatrists may want to look into the Virginia Tech Massacre more. This would produce an addition of facts and theories on how such a ridiculously stupid and tragic event occurs. Doing so would help officials plan for the future. Here's to hoping nothing like the Virginia Tech tradgedy ever happens again
