Poetry: Despair

by Rachel Newland

Created on: January 25, 2009

I don't know where I'm going

I do not know the way,

I've lost all sense of purpose...

It's not alright,

I'm not ok,

I feel so lost and empty,

Does no-one I know care?

My cries for help just echo, echo....

Is anybody there?

It's like I'm trapped inside a box,

Without a lock or key,

There's no way to get in or out,

And no-one who

Can rescue me.

With all my friends surrounding me,

I still feel so alone,

What is it that has captured me,

That keeps me on my own,

My own?
