We can debate all day, but unless someone's mind is changed, all we'll do is fight about who is right. The reason Obama won the election might be different for you than it is for me. That's just the way the truth works in our society. All I can say about the fact that Obama did win in the end, is why I personally voted for him. For me, the truth is this: Anything based on hope and faith always wins in the end. At least, hope and faith always beats fear based debates and campaigns.
* IT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FEAR AND FAITH. . .
After all, the USA was based on hope and faith in the first place and the fact remains that in fact, McCain's campaign was based on fear, dread, doom and gloom. It's true, and in fact, everything that every Republican said made me afraid. Still, the fact that they used fear based ways to debate their view of the truth, is the reason why I refused to look through their view. You see, as a product of the 60's, I know that what we resist will persist. Apparently, the Republican's forgot what Martin Luther King taught us a long time ago. We have to find the hope and faith it takes to see beyond what makes us afraid, and when we do, God provides the amazing grace it takes to change and achieve impossible dreams. Obama is the proof.
* IT'S THE ABILITY TO SEE BEYOND WHAT MADE ME AFRAID. . .
Obviously, Martin Luther King was right. Otherwise, how could it be that a guy like Barack Obama did win in the end, and within my life time? Since I recall when a black man couldn't vote at all, I'd say the fact that he did win in the end is nothing short of amazing grace, and amazing grace always comes from hope and faith. You see, some men and/or women are simply born to lead. With hope and faith, they show up in our lives, just in the nick of time, and that's a good enough reason for me for Obama to win in the end. Still, if you need even more reasons why Obama won the election at this particular time, I can give you a few, through my limited view.
* IT'S THE FACT THAT WHAT WE RESIST WILL ALWAYS PERSIST. . .
We'd been resisting change for way too long, and then, Obama comes along. He's different. He's unique. He didn't do or say the same old thing. He actually seemed to see the reality that in fact, we need to change, for the nation's sake. Imagine that? In fact, we used to be the very definition of insanity. Insanity is doing the same old thing again and again, but each time we did what we already did, why did we expect a different result? The answer is
