The Silhouette of His Life
The silhouette of his life goes dancing by
he watches the world outside
bothers no one while he aches
his heart slowly fades inside
the days go by so slow for him
and his pain inside increases
his strength and will to fight and live
weaken and fade away
But all the while he ignites a burning love within
for family and friends who care
and the sweet words of wisdom
exit his mouth one last time
be true to your family
stay close to your friends
and remember the truth deep inside
Suddenly he sees the light
and longs to go towards it
the pain inside increases
until he says goodbye
and then all at once the pain is gone
and now he struggles no more
for the light of God brings peace to him
and eases all the pain
His family and his friends shed tears of lonely sorrow
aching for their loved one
but a quiet joy also remains
for they know he is happy now
and in front of their eyes and deep in their minds
they see the silhouette of his life
good times and bad times
past experiences and old friends
sweet people who care so much
The memories of all of them come to mind
and though it hurts they know it is best
for now he begins a new life
one that is never-ending
and causes nor endures no pain
and on the day that you or I should die
he'll meet us at the gates of Heaven

TEARS FOR OCCASIONS
Sometimes we shed tears from joy, tears from pain;
Sometimes we produce tears and we can't explain.
A baby
Moisture dropping upon my cheeks
My soul releasing
Clear droplets like the morning dew
Glistening on an aspen tree
Tears are
Tears
There it is again,
the unavoidable burning in my throat
that signals the trapped emotions of tears wanting to escape.
Quietly they fall, disturbing nothing.
No trace left behind as they vanish.
Yet their existence holds so much.
A clear morsel
