REGARDLESS
She shivered in the breeze and thought...
Thought of the days, weeks, months, years before,
Of how none of it seemed to matter..who cared?
A stronger breeze swept through her thin jacket...
Why did she even wear a jacket? Would it matter in a few moments?
She thought of how the sad moments had far outweighed the happy ones,
How wrong it had been to hope, and the big mistake of caring,
And lifted a foot.
A tear fell down her cheek, and the wind blew it sideways across her face.
He face, worn with wrinkles at such a young age...
A face that life had taken it's toll on with all the sad things it had handed her.
But, then....the sun began to rise.
And she remembered why she had woken up every day, why she had tried, and why she must continue to try again, and again.
Because if she did not care to hope, to continue, to try, ....who would?
But too little too late.
As the wind blew a mighty gust, she lost her grip on the bridge's wiring,
And fell anyway.

The thought that I

Every look and any look that she gave.
Remembering how she smelt as she passed by,
