Valentine's Day

How to write your own Valentine's Day card

HEARTS, HEARTS, AND MORE HEARTS

Are you having trouble finding a good Valentine for your significant other? Well, look no further. If you care enough, and want to give a card that he or she will truly love, take some time to make a Valentine yourself, that speaks with your own voice.

It need not be extravagant. All of the necessary ingredients can usually be found at home, especially if you have kids. If not, every large-chain drugstore usually has an aisle that has crayons, pens, construction paper, scissors, and glue, whether bottled like Elmer's or in stick form.

Here's what you do. It's easy.

Take a sheet of sturdy white paper and fold it in half. Voila! You've made the card! Now comes the good part. The adornment. The very personal and intimate expression of your love.

Say it with hearts! With one or a bunch! Draw a few small ones on a sheet of red paper, or draw them on white and color them with different shades of pink and red. Cut them out, and with a drop of glue or a swipe of a glue pen, attach them to the front page of the card. Don't just do this randomly! With every heart you put down, picture your beloved in your mind. Let your love be your inspiration to create! Again, it need not be extravagant. Think elaborate simplicity! Maybe one small heart in the center of the page says it all. Now open your card.

The possibilities here are infinite. Write a little or a lot. But, pause before you commit a word to paper. Picture your beloved again. The simple words, "I Love You," may say it all. Perhaps a short (or long) list like, "How do I love you? Here's how," or "I love you because...." But whatever you write, let it come from the heart. If you do, than your making of the Valentine becomes an act of LOVE that will quite apparent to and deeply appreciated by whoever opens your card.

Guaranteed.
