five times a week. When it's difficult to find time, split your thirty minutes into 10 minute spans and figure out smaller exercises you can do in your free time.
Of course exercise isn't the only thing you need to worry about but you do need to focus on making sure that you include both cardio/aerobics and weight lifting. It's important to keep a balance between the two types of workouts because cardio keeps your heart-beat up and helps you get into the weight loss stage and weight lifting helps you build muscles which help your metabolism increase.
What does your metabolism have to do with anything? In layman terms, metabolism burns your calories at a specific speed. When it stops, you die because it's the one thing that regulates your body. Once your food becomes what enzymes break them down to be (fatty acids, amino acids, glucose. Etc) they will enter your cells. Once inside your cells, the enzymes act to speed up or regulate your chemical reaction involved with metabolizing your compounds that you've just ate.
There are two types of metabolism, constructive metabolism (Anabolism) and destructive metabolism (catabolism) and these two types of metabolisms work together to form your body. That's why sometimes you're storing fat because your body is not getting enough of some of the things you need for your body so it stores the next time you eat something.
Of course what I just said almost makes no sense but thinking about it, it should be a bit clearer just by thinking about what you need in your body. You need a variety of things to help run your body. That's basically what food does, metabolism determines how fast or slow your body processes it. That's why you want your metabolism to increase. One way is to eat six meals a day. (Eat six small meals!)
If you eat only one time a day, your body will continuously store fat because it will need to have something to use when it's trying to burn something in your body. That's the main reason fitness coaches encourage you to eat six small meals a day instead of three large meals. If you're always eating, your body is no longer storing fat and is burning what it doesn't need.
Working out, your body burns calories and that's why it's important to burn more calories than you eat. When you're working out, you burn a specific amount of calories. Your food is what gives you calories, your workout burns calories. When you burn 3500 calories you will lose one pound provided you have burnt a deficit of 3500 calories. You have
