Can you really make money online?

The words "money" and "online" seem like the laws of nature forbid these two from being put into the same sentence. However, that is not the case all the time. Making money online is possible, it's just how much you want to make. Most people make only a trickle of income, and the dedicated can reap the great rewards of determination.

There are different sites that allow people to do different things to make some extra cash on the side without leaving home. Here are some tried and true examples of making money online.

ChaCha.com is a human driven search engine for mobile phone users. It works by a customer submitting a question on just about anything, within a few short minutes a real live person gets back with a good answer. The work is mundane, but is reliable. I'll have to admit with this site that I did not think it was for real. However, I have earned over $200 in one month spending only a few short hours a day. Guides get paid $0.10 per search until they reach 200 searches in one week, then it goes up to $0.20 per search. It doesn't seem like a lot, but the searches should only take about 3 minutes to complete. Money can be paid by check once a month or by a visa debit card.

Writing is another avenue of people to make some extra cash. There are plenty of writing websites to submit to for open content, such as Helium. Some other reputable websites are ehow.com, associatedcontent.com, and bukisa.com. Check the internet for more opportunities. There are also freelancing networks in this field. Through these, writers bid on projects and wait on getting selected. The projects can range from $5 to $200 depending on what the client wants.

Newspapers and magazines also need writing done for their publications. There are numerous of publications in print as well as pure web versions. Both of these things can be done with the power of the internet. Earnings for this type of job run anywhere from $50 to $1200 per piece of writing depending on what the client needs.

There are some people that have been able to make a few extra dollars by completing online surveys. I have yet to meet one of these people just as I have yet to meet the mythical unicorn. This is one thing that I would not suggest anyone to do, simply due to the fact that the funding source is unreliable and no guarantee the target company is looking for you to participate.

Opening an online business is yet another way to make money online. Businesses online are not held to the same laws that are in your home
