To me the Arizona Cardinals are the west coast version of the New York Jets. Like the Jets, the Cardinals have not had any success in many years. The team they have assembled this year appears to be different. This was a team that beat up on a very bad division, doing most of their damage through the air. But the coach, Ken Whisenhunt, was a coach with the Steelers for a good number of years and he knows that winning in the playoffs takes a well balanced offense with a good running attack. I think you have seen that from the Cardinals in the playoffs. They have Edgerrin JAmes in the backfield, who is an experienced back with playoff experience. I'm not going to say he did it intentionally, but it seems like his workload was reduced during the season so that he would be fresh for the playoffs. Boy has that paid off for them. They have been counted out and not given a shot in any of their playoff games so far and here they sit with the ultimate prize right in front of them . Who would have thought? Maybe there is still hope for us Jets fans.

Now onto the Steelers. They are your typical Steelers smash mouth football team. They will be physical and beat you up on the defensive side of the ball, and will be physical and run the ball down your throat when they are on offense. Talk about being a well balanced team, they have an outstanding defense who has excelled at both stopping the run and pass. Willie Parker is finally healthy and seems as fresh from his time off with injury as James does. Big Ben is a gamer that will stand in the pocket and take a hit in order to give his receivers enough time to get opened.

I think we are in for a very physical, well played Super Bowl. As much as I want to go with the crowd and predict the Steelers to win, I just can't do it. the Cardinals have been the Cinderella story of these NFL playoffs, and I am going to pick them to finish their story with a celebration in Disney World. With the way their receivers, particularly Larry Fitzgerald, are playing, even if the Steelers stop the run, I think they will be able to do plenty in their passing game to win it. The last thing the Steelers want is to get into a shoot out with the Cardinals. The Cardinals trio of Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin and Steve Breaston are among the best in the league. Hines Ward and Santonio Holmes do not match up with them talent wise.

Let's hope for a good game and lots of great new commercials. Enjoy the game!
