Surrounding yourself with a large group of friends can lead a very rewarding life. Every friend will bring something different to your life. If you have that one friend you have known the longest, this is the person you call for just about anything and everything. On the other hand, if there is an issue with your significant other you call one friend; if there is a problem at work you might call another friend, and if want a night out with the girls or guys you call the entire group.
When you have a small group of friends you will find yourself doing the same things and going to same places over and over with them, this is not the case with a large group of friends. A large group of friends opens doors for people that a small group would not. It might even open doors for your fiends, if they don't already know each other, when they meet each it can lead to networking and socializing opportunities that they may not be been subjected to prior to meeting each other. Everyone is unique each and every friend brings something different to your life. A larger group also allows you to learn things from other people that you might not have known, go places that you wouldn't normally go, and have experiences that you would not have had otherwise.
In the event something appalling happens in your life; whether it be your significant other and you split or you find out they are cheating on you; you found out you or someone close to you is sick; someone close to you passes away or any other number of other things that could happen; having a large group of friends will be helpful during these time. They will be your support group, your shoulder to lean on and each one will find their own unique ways to help you through it all. Again, with people being different, one might take you out to dinner, one might take you to a movie and others might just stop by and stay a while.
Everyone needs a break from the mundane everyday life and wants variety in their life. Having a large group of friends usually helps you achieve that need. If you do the same things all the time with the same people, eventually you are going to tire of it. The places you go will not be as meaningful, fun or interesting. You need to experience life and share experiences with all the people in your group. Think about it, the more people you have in your life, the more opportunities for new experiences you have. So surround yourself with a large group of fun, loving and great people and enjoy your life.
