Originally settled by French, and then populated by German, Italian workers, today St Louis is a major American city with mixture of many different cultures and their unique cuisines. Don't be surprised to find many authentic restaurants with a long history providing equally unique and delicious entrees all around the city.

From well known chefs to local neighborhood barbeque joints you will find all kinds of dining options for all budgets here. Many authentic French, German, Italian and Asian restaurants offer traditional menus along with some popular American food.

Here is list of top 10 kid friendly family restaurants from our own experience and some research that are located around St Louis.

1. Chris's Pancake and dining (5980 Southwest Ave)

This is a great place to take the whole family for hearty breakfast or brunch, or any meal for that matter. Even though they have small parking the restaurant has plenty of seating. It is usually packed on weekends, but the service is fast and friendly. The pancakes are really good especially the buckwheat, the omelets are equally tasty. If you are here for dinner Hamburger might be a good choice.

2. Sen Thai Asian Bistro (1221 Locust St)

Located in downtown St Louis, this very popular Thai restaurant offers authentic Thai food which is always fresh and delicious. Menu features different choices for appetizers, soups and spring rolls. Try ordering the mixed platter to taste some of the best ones like coconut shrimp, spring rolls. When ordering main entrees with noodles and curries, make sure you order the right level of spiciness, usually even medium is pretty hot in Thai cuisine compared to American food.

3. Fatted Calf (12 S Bemiston Ave)

With somewhat unusual name this kid friendly restaurant is serving up best burgers around the town for more than 40 years now. Burgers are cooked the way you want and all of them come with lettuce, tomato, Mayo, and their famous soft cheddar cheese. The Chicken Sandwiches are also a popular choice among diners. Reasonable prices, Quality food and friendly atmosphere make this English pub style restaurant a very popular stop for locals as well as visitors.

4. Faraci Pizza (15430 Manchester Rd)

After 30 decades of service this Italian pizza place has perfected their pizza's and pasta dishes. Their St Louis style thin pizza is one of the crowd favorite with tangy salty tomato sauce and real quality cheeses.
