Lawrence Massachusetts is a culturally diverse area and one that is rich in manufacuturing. Because the income levels in Lawrence are so low, volunteers are always needed to help with Scouts, the Food Pantry, Lions Club and more. Here are some of the outstanding volunteer opportunities that are always available in Lawrence:
A) Lawrence Lions Club: A diverse group of men and women who have come together for the sole purpose of community service. The Lions Club raises money to help eradicate blindness, help feed the hungry, provide scholarships for deserving students and much more. One of the highlights of being a member of a Lions Club is that 100% of all the monies that are raised at their fundraisers goes back to charity. None of it is spent on administrative expenses.
B) Lawrence Boy/Girls Scouts: the Lawrence area is rich in a young population and as a result they are fortunate to have strong and active boy and girl Scout Troops. Just think about how much fun it is to share your inspiration and knowledge to help a young person succeed in life!
C) Bread and Roses: If you really love the excitement of being involved in Festivals, the Bread & Roses festival which is an annual Labor Day event is run entirely by volunteers from the Lawrence area. This organization has existed since 1912! What an exciting opportunity to volunteer your time for a great opportunity to show the diversity of labor.
D) Senior Center: Share your spare time with Seniors who attend events at the Senior Center. You can help with arts and crafts, serving meals or simply reading and playing games with seniors. Your effort means that a senior isn't as isolated.
E) Election Division: If you are really into politics you might find that the Election Division is the perfect way for you to volunteer your time! Get involved with local elections, state elections and even national elections and you have found the perfect outlet for your energy!
F) Library: Since more cities and towns are seeing budget cuts, the Lawrence Public Library is always in need of volunteers. Volunteers may take part in helping to restock shelves, assisting students with location research materials, children's reading groups and more. Get involved with the library and share your love of reading and books!
I am sure there are hundreds of other volunteer activities that are avialable in Lawrence including the food pantry, animal shelters and more. Whatever you love to do you'll certainly find more than one place to volunteer in Lawrence MA!
