Poetry: Holding back

by Sophi De Rossett

Created on: January 23, 2009

i'm afraid that when i tell you, you will fall

but when you fall, i don't wanna be held responsible.

you broke my heart and i never had the heart to tell you;

you ruined me, but my soul is like glue.

your shadow creeps and spits in my cracks and creases;

unbuttons me like i am nothing new.

Please... now see... I am all but blossomed

all but something to you.

and speak with words straight forward

put no heart into that verse;

The light is shining on you.

Please reverse, the curse.

time will go however you need the clock to tick

forward and frontward; around around and again.

but here i am standing on the second hand

dropping and raising quick; it's sick

please now, spill it all.

i'm ready to fall.

i'm ready to leave your mind.

i'm ready to start again

and i have but you gotta see who i am.

so i said it all and now you're tumbling to the fall

no fingers; i said don't point the blame.

i'm not wanting to hear the crumble

but you left me just the same.

and now i'm taking it back now-my heart;

and learning to give it with a piece of mind and no shame.
