Why do guys pick their friends over their girlfriends?

Over the course of time, men have come to believe that women mean the opposite of what they actually say. No' means Yes' and You don't have to do that' means You should want to do that'. All of these hidden meanings in dialogue with men. I never understood it. On the other hand, women have been proven time and time again, that men are, for the most part, completely clueless about what a woman is talking about altogether, anyways. Men are seen as straightforward, point A to point B individuals. I'm really not in favor of believing in the stereotype around men vs. women, but I have learned that I am subconsciously fitting the mould of my gender. I used to think that, "We don't play mind games with you." <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /

But without thinking about it, we do. We act like conversational wizards sometimes, in order to get them to do or say what we want them to. There are no hidden messages from men. They just flat out, get to the point when talking to us. In return, we sometimes think, "Is that all?" Is it all a game of Cat & Mouse when it comes to our communication? Why do we think and do the things we think and do?

When it comes to their friends, I get it. I get that a night out with the boys is, in most cases, a lot more fun than hanging out with the other half, the old ball n' chain, the old lady. Being with the guys usually consists of late nights and sometimes forgetting to call. It's usually more fun. I do get it. However, I am a firm believer in that, when you are in a relationship that has surpassed certain milestones, your priorities should be a little different, from bachelor or bachelorette hood. Haven't seen your best bud in a while? Sure, go out on a bender with him or her. Haven't been alone with your lover in a week? Make the time, and don't break the plans, especially two consecutive nights in a row. I mean, we (the women) understand when a good friend of yours is unexpectedly in town and you haven't seen them in a while, you want to hang out with them. Cool. But that doesn't mean forget what you have waiting for you, at home, in your bed. We have needs too. I'm sure that, even if we're in a fight, because they love us, we are somewhere in the back of their minds when they go out with their friends. Thoughts aren't enough sometimes though. We want to be with you too.

I like to be as direct and to the point as I can to my boyfriend. Like I said before, I hate being apart of a demeaning
