Tall and slim men fashion tips: Finding clothes that fit

As my son grew into the adult fashion range, I realized he was going to take after my father's side of our family, rather than my mothers. He was already several inches above me in height and skinny as a shrimp. Although not quite tall enough to have a problem with his shape when purchasing new clothes, he is still growing up but not out, and so I have started to look out for options to assist him with clothes buying in his future. The first time I realized that we might soon face a problem was when noticing the gap between his trouser cuff and shoes showed a rather large expanse of ankle - and leg.

One of the easiest solutions to finding clothes that fit is to go to a clothing store that deals specifically with male fashion. Such establishments generally have helpful staff who can assist you to find their selection of extra long legged pants and extra long sleeved shirts and jackets. If there is no staff available, you will generally be able to locate these items within the store - either at the back of the clothing rack for each option, or on a separate rack especially for men who need to deal with locating alternatives to the one size fits all brigade.

If your district does not have much choice, or even a men's store at all, you may need to consider buying from a catalog. If you are looking for a catalog, you should make sure that it does cover fashion for tall and slim men, rather than just for men in general. Many catalogs deal with fashion for both sexes and all ages and sizes, but there are catalogs for male fashion solely, and these generally tend to have a larger range of clothing for men of non-average clothing sizes, both extra large and extra long.

Another option is to shop online. When searching for online male fashion, you can slip in the words tall or slim to your search to enable you to locate something suitable. When finding a source, make sure that it deals with your chosen method of payment as well as your special needs in clothing size - and that it delivers to your area and country. If shopping from an overseas source, remember that clothing sizes are not the same worldwide. You may need to convert inches into centimeters or vice versa.

A fourth option is to visit a clothing store that is open to making alterations. Many of city men's stores have a tailor in situ to lengthen or shorten their fashion if required. This service is usually free, but you may need to make sure of this fact before asking for the sleeves and legs to be lengthened. Some larger stores will have a special department especially catering to customer fittings and these will be able to ensure that your choice of fashion will be fixed to suit your body shape. They may even have a tailoring department that will build you a suit from scratch, although this option is not currently trendy.
