These very simple, very delicious cookies have a standard base to which you can add an array of options to get a wide arrangement of taste, shape and colour.
Dough:
-2 3/4 cup flour
-1 tsp baking soda
-1/2 tsp baking powder
-1 cup (2 sticks) butter
-1 1/2 cup sugar
-1 egg
To this you can add cocoa for colour and chocolate flavor. You can add food colouring, chocolate chips, raisins, nuts, gummy candy, etc.
Prep:
-Pre-heat the oven to 375 *F.
-Mix all the ingredients by hand, i find its done better that way than with a mixer.
-Grease the pan.
-You can roll the dough out and use cookie cutters, or you can make 1 1/2in balls that will turn into round cookies.
-Bake for about 10 min. (depending on the oven).
-Once done let them cool off for a bit before removing from the baking pan.
- Depending on what you did you can either leave them as is or you can add icing, sprinkles, jam, etc and further have fun decorating them.
Enjoy!
