If you live in the Southeast part of United States, you might want an inexpensive, warm vacation that is within driving distance. Here are some suggestions for you when you begin to make your vacation plans.
If you are looking to discover history and visit an aquarium try Charleston, SC. The Charleston low country has a lot to offer in the way of historical sites.
After visiting the various historical locations, you can go to the Charleston aquarium and see a variety of aquatic species. One of the most interesting exhibits is aquatic species native to the low country. After a day of sightseeing, visit one of the local restaurants for some fresh seafood. The restaurants can offer the freshest seafood without the big price because they are on the coast. The Wreck of Richard and Charlene on Mt Pleasant island can be difficult to find, but is well worth the considerable effort. There are hotels located in Mt Pleasant or John's Island which are close to everything without the overly inflated prices of visiting the beach.
If you are younger and want to party try Myrtle Beach, SC. Myrtle Beach offers a lot of different types of activities. Some of the hotels have golf, tennis, bowling, and many other sport activities. There is no shortage of seafood buffets in Mrytle Beach either. For $15 -20, you can get all you can eat oysters, fish, shrimp, crab, and sometimes lobster. If you make supper your main meal of the day, you could possibly budget $30-40 a day for food and come under budget every time.
If you are older and want to relax try Hilton Head Island, SC. Hilton Head Island is laid back and caters to the older crowd. There is not a lot for young people to do, unless they want to sit around and listen to the relaxing sound of the ocean waves. Many of the resorts have golf courses and tennis courts. There is also a Tanger outlet with plenty of stores for a day of shopping.
