If you are older and want to relax try Hilton Head Island, SC. Hilton Head Island is laid back and caters to the older crowd. There is also a Tanger outlet with plenty of stores for a day of shopping.

If you want to go to the mountains try Asheville, NC. Asheville has a plenty to do with great downtown area, Biltmore estate, and many other attractions. It would be best to this weekend trip in the early fall if you want to see the changing of the leaves. It would be best to make this weekend trip in the late fall if you want to see the Christmas at Biltmore estate.

If you would like to relax in cabin on the side of a mountain try Gatlinburg, TN. Gatlinburg has cabins for rent, many offering beautiful mountain views. Most of the cabins have Jacuzzis and decks. There are hiking trails for those who like to explore the outdoors. It is a plus that Pigeon Forge is not far away and offers lots of shopping options.
