Frosty the Snowman had not always been Frosty. He grew up much like you and I, born to hardworking parents who diligently provided for their children. However, life was not easy for Frosty's family. Due to hard times and insufficient funds, his father and mother declared the need to live by the heat of a wood fire to generate warmth through the longer winter months, instead of paying exorbitant fuel costs to heat their humble home. And the long winter months were definitely long and frigid because they resided in the far reaches of Northern Alaska.
Heating with wood began wonderfully with warmth that dispelled the icy air seeping through cracks in the poorly built home. Yet like all good things, it didn't last long. The wood surrounding their home slowly began to disappear. Upon investigation, Father Frosty discovered that all the people in their polar village had decided to heat with wood. Father Frosty quickly became anxious about the lack of available wood, wondering how he could care for his family when negative temperatures threatened to last at least four more months.
Noticing his Father's despair, Frosty the Snowman decided to act. Frosty was no ordinary son, his passion for science, inventions and looking at old things in new ways set him apart from his peers. His brain began feverishly working to provide a solution to their family's wintry dilemma. He knew that snow could be a great insulator from all the nights he'd spent snow caving with his friends. He also knew that the body could generate great heat and when contained, keep a person warm. Amazingly, within five days Frosty developed a skin suit similar to wet suits worn by divers. Wearing his skin suit Frosty began rolling in the arctic snow, covering himself in layers and layers of fine, icy, white blankets. Eventually he enveloped himself to the extent that he looked like three big balls of frosty snow. Unbelievably, he claimed to be quite warm and comfortable. Indeed, the added benefits were his ability to enjoy being outside in any weather. In fact, the colder the better since it hardened his outer shell.
Father Frosty was quite pleased with his son's discovery and soon his entire family was rolling in the icy fluff, coating themselves and becoming as insulated and frosty, as Frosty himself. You may wonder how they lived in their house as apparent snowmen. The answer, they left the door wide open and let the wintry numbing breeze keep them cooled and frozen
Since that time, Frosty's family has iced up every winter, thawed in the spring and enthusiastically enjoyed life to its fullest, freed from the burdens of normal winter cares.
